Marriage and divorce are two important aspects of people's lives that are often influenced by the development of technology and social media. In today's digital era, technology and social media have become an inseparable part of everyday life, influencing various aspects of life including interpersonal relationships, including in the context of marriage and divorce. Besilam Village, Langkat Regency, is no exception to this impact. This study aims to investigate the legal consequences of technology and social media on marriage and divorce in Besilam Village. This research is relevant considering the significant changes in communication patterns, social interactions, and consumer behavior as a direct impact of technological advances and the increasingly widespread use of social media in society. By understanding more deeply the legal impacts associated with the use of technology and social media in the context of marriage and divorce, it is hoped that more effective strategies and solutions can be found in dealing with the problems that arise. Through this study, it is hoped that it will be revealed how technology and social media have influenced the pattern of marital relationships and the divorce process in Besilam Village. The findings of this study are expected to be the basis for the development of better policies, programs, and interventions in dealing with the negative impacts and strengthening the positive aspects of the development of technology and social media in the context of marriage and divorce.
