Author Guidelines
Skyhawk Journal Writing Guidelines:
A. Introduction
Skyhawk Journal is a national scientific journal that is open to seeking innovation, creativity, and newness. Skyhawk Journal is a journal that has gone through a review process by experts (Peer Review) published by the Indonesian Aviation Academy Banyuwangi. The purpose of this journal is to facilitate the scientific publication of research results in Indonesia and participate in improving the quality and quantity of research for academics and researchers. Skyhawk Journal is published every March and September by publishing research results and critical analysis studies in the field of Aviation.
B. General Guidelines for Writing Manuscripts
- The manuscript is the result of authentic research that has never been published in other publication media or other publishers;
- Manuscripts are accepted with writing standards in Indonesian;
- Manuscripts should be written according to this article template. Articles should be written on A4 paper (210x297 mm), with the following margins: left 30 mm, right 30 mm, bottom 30 mm, and top 30 mm, using Arial font with a size of 11pt, and 1.15 spacing;
- Manuscripts are typed using Microsoft Word on A4 paper, with a maximum of 5,000 words including figures, tables and references;
- Manuscripts must not contain a maximum of 20% plagiarism. The editorial board will immediately return manuscripts that show evidence of plagiarism. We use software to check your manuscript for plagiarism;
- The manuscript consists of five main headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Bibliography;
- The title of the article should be short and reflect the contents of the manuscript with a maximum of 16 words;
- The author's name is written below the title, followed by the author's affiliation and email address;
- Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English. They should not exceed 150-250 words and should contain a narrative about the aims, methods, and findings of the research/writing.;
- Keywords: important, specific, or representative words or phrases for the article, consisting of 3-5 words;
- Manuscripts must be written in the journal template provided.
C. Manuscript Content Guidelines
- Manuscript Title: The title should be informative, concise, and clear. It should not be open to multiple interpretations. The title should reflect the issue being discussed. The first word should be capitalized and symmetrical. The article title should not contain uncommon abbreviations. The main idea should be written first, followed by an explanation. The article title should be a maximum of 16 words, using 11pt font Cambria, bold, and centered on the page.
- Abstract: The abstract should be written in a maximum of 150-250 words, followed by 3-5 keywords arranged alphabetically. The abstract should include the research objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and (optional) limitations. The abstract should be single-spaced and written in Cambria font, 11pt.
- Introduction: The introduction should contain a general background and a state-of-the-art literature review as the basis for the new research question, a statement of the new scientific article, the main research problem, and the hypothesis. The purpose of the article should be stated at the end of the introduction. This should be reflected in the literature review to demonstrate the novelty of the scientific article.
- Method: The methods section explains how the research was conducted, including the research design, data collection, research instruments, and analysis methods. This section should be presented narratively.
- Result and Discussion: This section consists of the research findings and how they are discussed. The research findings must be supported by adequate data. The research results and findings should answer the research hypotheses or research questions previously stated in the introduction.
- Conclusion: This is the final section, containing conclusions, limitations, and recommendations. The conclusion will answer the hypothesis or research question, the research objectives, and the research findings. The conclusion should not simply reiterate the results and discussion. It should summarize the research findings as expected by the author in the research objectives or hypotheses. The research limitations and recommendations contain shortcomings in the study and suggestions for further research ideas.
- References: All references used in the article must be listed in this section. In this section, all references used must come from primary sources (scientific journals), and at least 80% of all references must have been published within the last ten years. Each article must have at least 15 references and cite at least one SINTA-indexed article.
D. Citation Guidelines or Bibliography
SAll references or citations presented in the article taken from other authors' articles must include the source reference. References should be made using a reference management application such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero. The writing format used in the Skyhawk Aviation Journal follows the format adopted by the APA 6th Edition (American Psychological Association)
E. Guidelines for Submitting Manuscripts Through the Online System
All manuscripts must be submitted online via the Skyhawk Journal OJS system:
- Documents must be submitted through the Online Submission System on the Skyhawk Journal website - Indonesian Aviation Journal. Indonesian Aviation Academy Banyuwangi;
- First of all, the author must register as an author or reviewer (selecting the role as author or reviewer) in the "Register" menu;
- After completing the registration steps, log in as an author and click "New Submission". The article submission stage consists of five stages, namely: (1) Start; (2) Upload Submission; (3) Enter Metadata; (4) Upload Supplementary Files; (5) Confirmation;
- In the "Start" column, select the Journal Section (near the Volume and Issue to be published), tick all the checklist boxes;
- In the "Upload Submission" column, upload the manuscript file in MS Word format in this column;
- In the "Enter Metadata" field, fill in all author and affiliation details. This includes the journal title, abstract, keywords, and bibliography;
- In the "Upload Supplementary Files" column, authors are allowed to upload additional files, statements, or other files if necessary;
- In the "Confirmation" column, if all the data you entered is correct, click "Finish Submission";
